Soho, London. Tracing its origins to the early 1700s and originally known as The Cock and Bull, this iconic pub was renovated in the 1930s and still wears the art deco style of the era with pride. Lots of history here. Oscar Wilde used to hold court here, waxing lyrical about art and literature. The Bloomsbury Group had their inaugural meetup here. Imagine Virginia Woolf, John Maynard Keynes and their friends here brainstorming over a pint. In later years you might catch Jimi Hendrix strumming a tune or the Rolling Stones mulling over lyrics. That's covering some historical ground!

A beautiful rounded bar, lots of dark wood and etched glass make for a beautiful place to sit and have a pint. It is a Nicholson's pub, and it was great to see so many Samuel Smith's beers to choose from. I settled on a Sovereign Bitter, one that I don't see very often. Delicious of course!
