Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Bath, UK. One of Bath city centre's smallest pubs, located in a small passageway between New Bond Street and Upper Borough Walls. The "Volly" is a traditional one room pub which is very popular with the locals (there is also a small seating area out front). The walls are adorned with lots of military themed memorabilia reflecting the pub's name.
I don't want to say I was not welcome here, but the bartender was a bit gruff and the locals just kept to themselves. But I found a table in the back (the Bullshit Corner) to sit and enjoy an Exmoor Gold from Golden Hill Brewery in nearby Somerset - the house beer. A nicely balanced straw colored beer with citrus notes resulting from the use of traditional noble hops Challenger, Goldings and Fuggles. Very tasty. I love the poster above where I sat from the 1970 Bath Festival of Blues and Progressive Music, which featured lots of classic rock and blues bands, and the Maynard Ferguson Big Band!
