Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Plymouth, UK. The building was constructed in 1690 and served as a merchant's house before being converted to a pub in the early 18th century. The pub takes its name from the Crown and Anchor emblem that was used by the Royal Navy during the 18th and 19th centuries and became a popular watering hole for sailors and seafarers. It is situated in the Barbican and offers great views of Sutton Harbour and the marina. As a result it is a VERY popular and lively place. It was a beautiful sunny day and almost every seat in the enormous beer garden was taken. I grabbed a Salcombe Gold from nearby Salcombe Brewery - a delicious golden ale made with Amarillo, Chinook and Citra hops - and squeezed my way into a table, enjoying great conversations with the locals. A fantastic end to my Plymouth crawl.
