Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Rainhill, Merseyside. An early 19th century pub named after the famous "Stephenson's Rocket" which won the Rainhill Locomotive Trials in 1829, a competition to decide the best mode of transport for the railway. The Rocket was the only locomotive to successfully complete the trials (over one mile of track), averaging 13 mph and achieving a top speed of 30 mph. They are very proud of this in Rainhill, and there are many plaques and signs around the area commemorating the event.
Inside the pub are several rooms with lots of open space and plenty of comfortable seating and two bar areas, And there are many different areas to enjoy in the beer garden - very cool. I sat out there and had a John Smith's Tadcaster, the beer most seen on tap in this part of the country.

cozy with an interesting history
