Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Fitzrovia, London. Originally licensed in 1730 as the Sun. The current pub is an Art Nouveau Gothic building designed by Victorian architects Treadwell and Martin. Unfortunately in the early 1980s the owners lowered the ceiling, destroyed the Victorian interior and renamed it The Presley, decorating it with images of Elvis Presley. The pub was renamed The Rising Sun by the next owners. Karl Marx was known to have visited the pub in the 1850s.
The pub has a long fairly narrow design but is still quite roomy, with etched mirrors and a beautiful dark wood bar lit by hanging globes. And I love the mosaic at the front entrance. It is a Greene King pub, and I enjoyed a tasty London Glory as I watched the Arsenal vs. Tottenham match.
