Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Plymouth, UK. A public house has stood on this site since the mid-19th century. It is probably named after Queen Victoria who took the throne in 1837. The building was rebuilt after the Blitz of 1941 (much of Plymouth was destroyed at that time).
On the day of my crawl in Plymouth most of the pubs were crazy busy. This was a nice respite - very mellow and quiet. From the photos you can see red is the featured color here - beautiful redwood bar, red carpet and red upholstery. Of course several photos of queens adorned the walls.
I enjoyed a pint of Jail Ale from Dartmoor Brewery (my go to while in South Devon) as I had a nice chat with the lovely bartender while I prepared for the rest of my Plymouth crawl (and recharged my phone!).
