Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Newcastle. After a walk down a narrow pathway from the Bridge Hotel I came upon this building in the shadow of the famous High Level Bridge over the River Tyne that dates from the late 16th century. At that time it was Dove's warehouse, storing goods which were being moved along the river. It is now home to this JD Wetherspoon pub. The horseshoe shaped building engulfs a cobbled courtyard which opens into a large pub with many rooms, stone walls, brass topped tables, and dark wooden beams. Out back there is a small patio by the river with a great view of the Tyne Bridge. Lots of beers to choose from but I had to go for a Darkness Prince of Ales from the Exeter Brewing Co., a delicious chocolate stout.
