Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Deritend, Birminham. Built in 1368, it claims to be the oldest secular building in Birmingham and was originally the Guildhall and School of St. John. It probably became an inn sometime in the mid 1500s, and Queen Elizabeth I is said to have stayed here in 1575. It became a pub in 1991. The exterior retains its old black and white timber look, and the interior has lots of brickwork walls and old wooden beams in the ceiling. There are many separate rooms and a large beer garden to choose from. The Jimbo Very Best Bitter from Purity Brewing in Warwickshire was nice and crisp with hints of berries and apple, and was the perfect beer to have with puri puri chicken kebabs.
