Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Newcastle upon Tyne. This grand French Renaissance style building was designed by John Edward Watson for the Newcastle upon Tyne Savings bank which opened in 1863. The name refers to the Roman milecastles that were built every mile of Hadrian's Wall. The wall was built to separate the Romans from barbarians. Each milecastle was guarded by at least eight men, and between each one there were two equidistant turrets. The ruins of milecastle 4 are located nearby beneath the Newcastle Arts Centre. A JD Wetherspoon pub which opened in 2009, there are 2 floors with lots of space and there were several different beers to choose from. I chose Exmoor Golden Ale (Devon).
