Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Wolverhampton, UK. A lovely country pub on the outskirts of Wolverhampton, in 1780 the Mermaid Inn was one of 23 buildings in the close vicinity of Wightwick Manor (a beautiful National Trust site I highly recommend visiting). It is located overlooking the Staffordshire and Worstershire Canal and on what was one of the main coaching routes between London and Holyhead, so it was a resting place for coaches and barges. Although it has been refurbished over the years it still has a lot of old wooden beams and brick to give it an old traditional pub feel. I enjoyed a Mad Goose Pale Ale from Purity Brewing in nearby Alchester. A zesty citrusy pale ale brewed with Pilgrim, Centennial, Chinook, and Cascade hops. Delicious!
