Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Brixham, Devon. Established in 1688 it is one of the oldest pubs in Brixham. Located on Higher Street (appropriate as it was quite a steep climb from the waterfront!), it stands on a piece of land that formerly belonged to the Duke of Suffolk, and was sold off by the crown between 1590 and 1610. It has formerly been known as the Black House, Penrose, Ingle Nook, and Black Cottage. The interior is a single large room in front of the bar with low beamed ceilings, and there is a little seating area outside of the bar. I stood outside an enjoyed a Legend Ale from Dartmoor Brewery while I had a nice chat with two gentlemen who gave me several suggestions of other pubs in the area to visit.
