Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Manchester. Dating back to 1745, The Lower Turks Head was once an old stagecoach stop. The exterior has beautiful ornate tiling and the MB above the door stands for Manchester Brewing Company (now closed). The large interior has so many distinctive features - checkerboard floors, three long wooden bars, wooden staircases, paneled walls, chubby hole seating and raised pew seating (so cool - had to get in one of these!) It is a Joseph Holt (brewing in Manchester since 1849) pub. I tasted several of their beer and hard to make a decision as they were all delicious. I chose the Sixex - a strong dark ale brewed to the same recipe for over 100 years. Deep mahogany in color with a rich malty flavor. Perfect on a cold Manchester day!
