Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Salcombe, Devon. Located in the lovely estuary town of Salcolme, the pub's building dates back to the 14th century with the pub itself first mentioned in 1639. The current Georgian frontage was added in 1753. There are two small rooms off of the small central bar, and a large restaurant is also available. Outside there are two seating areas, with the upstairs providing a magnificent view of the estuary. I sat up there and enjoyed a delicious Shingle Bay Golden Ale (with hints of blackberry and spiced fruit) from Salcombe Brewery. If you are in the South Hams do yourself a favor and get to Salcombe (I recommend taking the ferry from Kingsbridge). It is such a lovely town, with lots of little shops, eateries and pubs - don't miss it!
