Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Oxford. Originally occupied by buildings erected by Augustinian friars in 1268, in 1607 Thomas Franklyn was licensed to set up an inn with the name referring to King James I who was involved with Wadham College. Inside there are three large rooms, plus the back bar, and the "office", and out in front of the pub are a few picnic tables. Until 1973 the back bar (known as the Don's Bar where some dons held tutorials as late as the 1970s) was not open to women. Another pub that has been featured in the Inspector Morse/Endeavor television series. It is a Young's pub. My beer of choice - Oxford Heritage from Chadlington Brewery (West Oxfordshire), an Amber beer brewed with ancient organic barley.
