Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Rainhill, Merseyside. I took a nice walk from The Black Horse in St. Helens along some beautiful English footpaths (I search these out wherever I am) and down Two Butt Lane to arrive at The Holt. A former Greenall's pub (it is now a free house), it is located at the edge of Rainhill on Warrington Road near Whiston Hospital. I couldn't find much history about this pub, but with its beautiful brick exterior and spacious rustic interior it felt like a warm and welcoming country style pub. A nice place to sit and watch a bit of Euro 2024 and enjoy a John Smith's Tadcaster.
