Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Edinburgh. Established in 1896 and designed by Robert Macfarlane Cameron, who in a time of temperance was one of the few people who sat on the town council and got on with publicans. It is notable for its magnificent Victorian Rococo interior, grand Jacobean style ceiling, ornate plasterwork, wide arched windows, and frosted glass screens. It is one of the few pubs to have survived from what has come to be known as the "Golden Age" of Scottish pub design. On the ground floor one large room surrounds a central island bar and upstairs there is a mezzanine level with sitting rooms. I enjoyed a Hit The Lip summer session beer from Cromarty Brewing, a delicious hoppy and fruity ale, and marveled at being able to sit in this gorgeous Scottish pub.
