Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Liverpool. Located on Cases Street off of Ranelagh Street (really easy to walk right by!). Opened in 1888 this tiny (one of the smallest in Liverpool and that's saying something!) and narrow ( it is SO narrow!) pub is described as "a nice, friendly, unspoilt Victorian pub with a sloping floor". The Liverpool branch of CAMRA was founded there on 1974. Such a nice cozy little pub. It has a beautiful bar with stain glass features. I have been here three times and always sit in the snug at the back of the pub. I enjoyed a Wainwright Golden Beer brewed by Marston's - I have had it a few times on this trip.
Another "resident" of tiny Cases Street (it's about 40 or 50 feet long) was Lizzie Christian (1898-1977). Legendary flower seller for more than sixty years, she worked from 9 to 6 six days a week and outside of the old Newsham General Hospital on Sundays. She married at age 20 and had 7 children, all supported by her selling of flowers. She knew everyone - from judges to working girls and most of the stars of the time - and they all knew her.
And I had a very nice chat with the lady at the front door on my way out. Always someone to get to know in an English pub. Yet another cool pub with great history. Cheers!
