Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Victoria, London. People often ask me whats my favorite pub. Of course there is no answer to this question, but I have visited many pubs that are quite memorable to me. This is definitely one. It dates from the late 1800s and is located next to the Victoria Palace. Surrounded by dark wood and gorgeous etched glass, it is such a beautiful and inspiring space. Lots of different rooms and the coolest horseshoe shaped bar. It is a Samuel Smith's pub. And as with all Samuel Smith pubs it has rules. No swearing is allowed and usage of electronic gadgets such as mobile phones or tablets is prohibited (I had to be in stealth mode to get these photos!). I was able to enjoy a really special beer - the Old Brewery Bitter from an oak cask. Not seen very often and so delicious! And from the front door you can check out the cool clock across the street and the gold plated ballerina on top of the Victoria Palace.
