Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Dartmouth. Located on Bayards Cove where the Mayflower stopped for repairs in 1620, it was first licensed in 1815. It is also just down the road from Bayards Cove Fort, where back in the day they would draw a chain across the estuary to protect the town from invasion. The pub has been modernized but still has the old dark wooden beams I always love to see, at the height of less than six feet (DUCK!). Enjoyed another beer from Salcombe Bay Brewery, Shingle Bay - a crisp golden ale with hints of berries and spice. I have had many beers from this brewery during my stay and they have all been delicious. I may be prejudiced as the brewery is only a mile down the road from where we are staying and I have gotten to know them quite well.
