Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Glasgow. Designed by J.T. Rochead in the Italian Renaissance style between 1867 and 1870, the design set the tone for the west end of George Square. It was originally a branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland. The interior still has many of it's original features, including the large hemispherical glazed and checkered cupola, 16 caryatids (sculpted standing female figures) that support the dome, and portraits of notable public figures associated with Glasgow including Adam Smith, Lord Kelvin, and tea merchant Thomas Lipton. The beautiful central bar is surrounded by a large open space with a few rooms towards the outer part of the interior. Another big gorgeous pub - stunning! Being so close to George Square and the railway station this is a very popular spot for lunch and I was lucky to find a small table to enjoy a Bitter & Twisted Golden Ale from Harviestoun Brewey in Alva.
