Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Preston (Friargate), Lancashire. There has been a pub on this site since 1797 but this Victorian building was built in 1898 for Kay's Atlas Brewery of Manchester by local architect J A Seward and doubled as a small hotel.
There are so many beautiful features to this pub. The red brick building is typical of its time. A mosaic floor runs throughout the pub. There are two small smoke rooms and a large U-shaped seating room in the back. It has a gorgeous semi-circular ceramic bar counter (one of 14 in the UK). There is ornate wood and glass work everywhere you look, with lots of memorabilia from old Preston.
It is a Robinsons pub (one of my favorite breweries and one you don't see a lot of).
Several nice beers to choose from - I went with the Dizzy Blonde Amarillo Pale Ale which was smooth and delicious. This is another pub that goes on my list of favorites.

I can see why it is one of your favorites. I could spend too much time reading all about its history.
