Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Edinburgh. Situated in the Grassmarket (once a bustling marketplace for corn, cattle, and other goods) and starting as a coaching inn, The Beehive has held a drinks license since the 16th century, with the current building dating from the 1860s. It is another pub that that Robert Burns is said to have stayed in. On the ground floor there are several rooms to choose from, and upstairs are event rooms, some of which are used during the Edinburgh Festival. There is a lovely three tiered beer garden in the rear, and a seating area on the sidewalk in front, a great place to sit and watch people cruising the Grassmarket. I usually have the house beer (in this case Beehive Inn Best Bitter), but after discovering it is brewed by Greene King I opted for a Lone Goose Golden Ale from Strangers Brewing in Linlithgow, located just outside of Edinburgh.
