Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Glasgow. Sloans began as a coffee house in 1797. The courtyard was the scene of cock fighting contests and twice a week a stagecoach would leave the court bound for Edinburgh. At the turn of the century it was renamed Sloans Arcade Cafe and transformed into an opulent venue with a lounge bar, cocktail bar, dining rooms, an aquarium, and upstairs the Grand Ballroom. The interior has lots of space and beautiful woodwork. I enjoyed a pint of St. Mungo (patron saint of Glasgow) Pure Heavenly Ale (brewed by West Brewery on Glasgow) in the tiny snug underneath the gorgeous mahogany staircase.
