Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

North Shields. The pub's origin dates back to the late 1800s when it evolved from the Oddfellows Arms. It was a gathering place for fishermen, dock workers, and locals. It is a large single room surrounding a central bar, and has a small courtyard in the rear. There are five cask ales to choose from and as usual I go for the house beer - Seven Stars Golden Ale from Three Kings Brewery in North Shields, brewed with Bramling Cross and First Gold hops. I took a seat in the courtyard next to two young guys who were bartenders at pubs in Newcastle. We had quite a conversation about beers and politics and after we finished our beers they invited me to join them for another round at one of their favorite craft beers located around the corner, the Enigma Tap. We had a fun hang and it was a great conclusion to my pub crawl that day in Newcastle.

Nice to meet you Bruce!
