Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Stirling, Scotland. After visiting Stirling Castle (highly recommend!) and returning to the town of Stirling I walked up the steep hilly street to the Settle Inn, established in 1733. The bartender Jock was quite helpful in sharing the history of the pub with me. In its earliest days it was part of the stables behind the building and later on it was a prison. During war years it served as a barracks. Check out the cool cave-like back room and the 200+ year old curling stones in front of the fireplace. Enjoyed a pint of Caesar Augustus Lager IPA Hybrid (?) from Williams Bros. Brewing in Alloa while I listened to Jock spin tales of the pub. What a great hang!
