Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Edinburgh. Located at the Haymarket, it was originally an inn and weight house in the 1830s called The Hay Weights. It was redesigned in 1906 by Robert Macfarlane Cameron (see "The Guilford Arms") for the whiskey merchants Ryrie and Co. The exterior features a Scottish Renaissance teak style frontage, and the interior has attractive leaded and stained glass and a finely detailed carved gantry behind the bar featuring a clock from the 1906 redesign. Upstairs is a cocktail bar. There are several different beers to choose from, including Island Hopping Hoppy Session Beer from Swanney Brewery (Orkney), Two by Two from Strata Brewing (Byker), and South Island Crisp New Zealand Pale from Saltaire Brewery (Shipley). This was my local while in Edinburgh, a nice cozy pub to finish off my day's crawl.
