Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Newcastle. Located on the Quayside with a view of the Tyne Bridge, this pub dates back to the 17th century and was previously known as Bob Trollops. This quirky pub is my favorite in Newcastle (so far) with all kinds of nooks and crannies, bricks and stone, exposed beams, and Art Noveau tiling. There are two bars (the small one in the back was closed when I was here) and many unique rooms (the cellar room is my favorite).
The "Newcastle Pirate" Edward Robinson who sailed with Blackbeard during the Golden Age of Piracy in the early 1700s was born in the pub.
Lots of different beers to choose from but as I usually do I went for the house ale, this time Redhouse Gold, a blonde/golden ale brewed by Wylam Brewery in Newcastle.
