Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Tynemouth. Opened in 2018, Platform 2 is Tynemouth's first pub dedicated to craft beer. It is located in a building that was originally the station waiting room and later Porters Coffee Shop. The station itself was designed by William Bell and was opened in 1882 by the North Eastern Railway and is a prime example of the Victorian style featuring vast glazed canopies and more than 100 slender cast iron columns surmounted by elaborately decorated caps and ironwork tracery. On weekends it is the site of a huge market. The pub is a single room with a limited outside drinking area on the station concourse and offers 8 draft beers and 4 on cask. My beer of choice was Platform on the Ocean from Black Lodge Brewery in Liverpool.
