Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Tromso, Norway. Located in the cellar of Macks Bryggeri (the northernmost brewery in the world and dates to 1877), the pub was opened in 1928 and is the oldest in Tromso. Olhallen was the first stop for hunters and trappers after wintering on Svalbard or after months up in the Arctic Ocean. Its most famous patron was Henry Rudi, the "polar bear king", who killed more than 700 polar bears in his career as a huntsman. Until the late 1960s the pub was for men only and not until 1970 were ladies toilets added. There are an incredible 72 taps and all the beers from Mack Brewing are available. I chose a Haakon pilsner, my third from the brewery and just a delicious as the previous two.
