Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Oxford. First mentioned in history books in 1681 as Jacob's Well (a Morrell's pub), it changed its name to Great Tom in 1865 and to Old Tom a decade or so later. It is named after Christ Church's Great Tom bell (the tower having been designed by Christopher Wren). The pub serves Thai food ( a trend in many pubs across the UK) and the back room is mainly a restaurant. But the area around the bar in front is for drinking, and there is a small outdoor seating area in the back. It is a Greene King pub but I was able to get a pint of one of my old favorites, Timothy Taylor's Landlord (West Yorkshire).
