Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

London, Southwark. Although the pub opened in 1986, the site and the building have a long history. The building was an old spice warehouse on the bustling Pickford's Wharf docks which date back to the 16th century. Just behind the prison was the original Clink Prison, the private prison of the Bishop of Winchester which housed prisoners beginning in 860. And beside the pub is a full size replica of the Golden Hind, the ship that took Sir Francis Drake on his round the world trip between 1877 and 1880. The interior is quite spacious and ornate and features long bar. I enjoyed a Nicholson's Pale Ale as I sat and gazed across the Thames.
