Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

London, Holborn. Established by the 16th century, the Red Lyon was the most important inn in Holborn, and Red Lion Street and Red Lion Square are named after it. According to legend, Charles II had the bodies of Oliver Cromwell, John Bradshaw, and Henry Ireton exhumed to stage an execution of their corpses, and the bodies were stored overnight in the pub's yard en route to the gallows at Tyburn. The room upstairs is named the Cromwell Bar. The shallow corner pub allows a narrow L shaped bar where there is no room for tables, so patrons either stand up or perch on bar stools. It is a Greene King pub but they did have Timothy Taylor's Landlord for me to enjoy.

The places are lovely! Midweek midday, I reckon, is ideal for photos and fewer patrons.
Damn Sam!! Mitre & Red Lion in back to back posts!! Having a productive day!!
