Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Newcastle upon Tyne, Gateshead. This quirky campervan themed micropub was opened in 2022 by a group of campervan enthusiasts and is located within a railway arch opposite the High Level Bridge. It is heavily themed around campervans including the bar made from the front of a VW campervan, lots of campervan memorabilia, and boasts a resident pub dog named Harriet. The pub has been recognized by CAMRA, winning Pub of the Year awards for Gateshead, Tynemouth, and Northunberland in 2023 and 2024, They offer a diverse selection of beers (mainly from Northern breweries), with 6 handpulls and 14 taps. The owner Suzy was wonderful, chatting with me for a long time about the pub and local breweries and even served me a delicious bowl of vegan chili. Durham Brewery was a new one to me so I had their Heart of Glass Blonde Ale which was a perfect pairing with the chili.
