Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Cardiff, Wales. Formerly the Old Market Tavern, it is thought to have been built in the 1600s. The pub is famed for the exploits of landlord Joe Holbrook, who ran the local circus. When he died a circus elephant named Lily reportedly drank a pint in his honor, much to the delight of the assembled regulars. Olivia Newton-John's father Brinley was born in the pub (her grandfather ran the pub). The pub is said to be haunted by the ghostly figure of Dic Penderyn, who was hanged just around the corner on St. Mary Street.
A bit of a contemporary rebuild, but still lots of brick and dark wood. And as everywhere else in Wales, they love the craic!
