Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Manchester. Located on the bank of the River Medlock, the pub appears on maps in 1844 but they may have been serving beer here in 1841. It is also the site of Manchester's oldest pissotiere (public urinal), last used in 1896. The pub is named after a poem by Lady Carolina Nairne. The pub's original landlord was a Scotsman who named it after his favorite poem. Inside is a zigzag shaped bar, a long wide hallway with rooms off to the side, and to the back an outdoor seating area located above the river. I enjoyed a pint of Klaxon Bitter from Brightside Brewing Company (Manchester) and, listened to the gentle sounds of the river flowing underneath my feet.
