Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

NYC, Times Square. Dates back to 1892 and was originally located at Sixth Avenue and 49th Street. During prohibition it operated as a speakeasy with a florist shop as a front. Due to it's close proximity to NBC it was a favorite spot for radio and TV personalities like Jack Parr, Howard Hughes, Jason Robards, Jonathan Winters and Johnny Carson (it was the bar in all of his Ed McMahon drinking jokes), and it was referred to as studio 1H. Mayor John Lindsay stopped in once only to be hisswd at by patrons, and Henry Kissinger and his 2 bodyguards were ejected by the bartender for "rowdy behavior". When Rockefeller Center was being planned the owners resisted eviction for years until finally relocating to it's present location in 1999. It is now a popular destination for Broadway musicians before, between, and after shows. Back in the day I spent many an hour here. It was cool to have a Dogfish Head IPA and reflect back on all the great times I had here.
