Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Edinburgh. Dates back to 1893, built on Candlemaker Row (1722) adjacent to Greyfriars Kirkyard. It is named after Bobby, a loyal Skye Terrier who's owner was John Gray, a night watchman for the Edinburgh police. After Gray's death in 1858 Bobby began a loyal vigil at his owners grave for 14 years until his own death in 1872. Bobby was buried in the same Kirkyard as his owner. In 1873 a bronze statue of Bobby was erected on a water fountain opposite the Kirkyard entrance on Candlemaker row. It is said rubbing his nose brings good luck, hence its shininess. I enjoyed a Jack Back Ale from Stewart Brewing, a tasty hoppy ale made with Mosaic and Citra hops.
