Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Brussels. Tucked away on a cobblestone backstreet off the Rue Des Bouchers just north of the Grand Place, this is probably my favorite beer bar in the world. Located in the basement (there are also bars on the two floors above), it set the Guinness World Record in 2004 with 2,004 beers available for tasting (at times they have up to 2,500!). You can't imagine how thick the book listing all the beers is. Its name of course comes from the Belgian Pale Ale "Delirium Tremens". The walls are plastered with ad panels, posters, and neon signs. Beer trays from all over the world are nailed to the ceiling and glass display cases filled to capacity with special beers and glasses encircle the room. An I love the wall of Delirium beers on the stairs leading down to the cafe.
The bartender Tony was a fountain of information not only helping me select a beer but also directing me to other places to check out in Brussels. The La Rulles Tripel I had was such a delicious beer. The brewery is located in the Walloon region of Belgium.
This place is a must visit for lovers of Belgian beers.
