Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Prescot, Merseyside. This building dates back to the 19th century and was a private residence before becoming a pub. It is located on Church Street next to Our Lady Immaculate and St. Joseph Church which was founded in 1848 (I love visiting old churches and cathedrals during my journeys). And it is located across the street from the new Shakespeare North Playhouse (hence the Shakespeare themed interior). Why build such a theatre in a small town in the northeast of England? There is some historical precedent. First, there is evidence that there was once an Elizabethan theatre in Prescot. And secondly, the fifth and sixth Earls of Derby were patrons of Shakespeare, were his fellow actors, and owned some of his plays. So if you don't want to go to the Globe in London, come check out this Shakespearean jewel in Prescot. And have a beer at Deanes House (or The Stage Door located on the other side of the theatre) before and after the show!
