Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Tynemouth. One of four traditional pubs (including The Turks Head Hotel, The Priory, and The Salutation Inn) on Front Street. It was built in 1898 by W.B. Reid & Co. and designed by F.R.N. Haswell on the site of an earlier pub from the 1860s that collapsed during restorations. One of its notable owners was "Jocker" Wood, a well known local publican and sportsman. It's red brick and faience exterior is designed in a typical Victorian Gothic style. I enjoyed two beers from the
North Pier Brew Co. in Sunderland - Cumberland Arms Breeches Bouy Pale Ale and Duke of Cumberland House Ale (a session bitter).
