Tynemouth. One of four traditional pubs (including The Turks Head Hotel, The Priory, and The Salutation Inn) on Front Street. It was built in 1898 by W.B. Reid & Co. and designed by F.R.N. Haswell on the site of an earlier pub from the 1860s that collapsed during restorations. One of its notable owners was "Jocker" Wood, a well known local publican and sportsman. It's red brick and faience exterior is designed in a typical Victorian Gothic style. I enjoyed two beers from the

North Pier Brew Co. in Sunderland - Cumberland Arms Breeches Bouy Pale Ale and Duke of Cumberland House Ale (a session bitter).
