Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Rainhill. This pub was formerly a coaching house and the site of a turnpike for stage coaches travelling out of Liverpool in the 19th century. In the pre-1880s it was named the Low Hill Coffee House and was a noted political house. At that time the local cricket club used the pub for its headquarters.
This was my local in Rainhill as it was located just down the street from our flat and on the way back from the railway station. The people here were so kind and welcoming, and I really enjoyed the big beer garden (complete with large screen TV - I watched a lot of Euro 2024 matches here). And as with most pubs in this area, John Smith's Tadcaster was the beer of choice.
