Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Glasgow. Built in 1819, the pub has had many names over the years including the Popinjay, Mclaughlin's, Weemann's, and the Merchant. The current name comes from the ancient name for Clyde. It has hosted manynotable figures including Woody Guthrie, The Humlebums (Gerry Rafferty and Billy Connolly), Spike Milligan, and Frank Zappa. The side of the building is covered with colorful murals that pay homage to the pubs history. But it is most famous for the tragedy that occured on November 29, 2013 when a police helicopter crashed into the roof of the pub killing 10 people. They now feature music 7 days a week, and I listened to a (very loud!) rock band as I enjoyed an Innis & Gunn Lager (brewed in Glasgow).
