Cardiff. Established in 1813. Over the years it has been a meeting place for many sporting organizations: the Cardiff District Rugby Union, the Cardiff Wednesdays RFC, the Cardiff Old Boys Club ( football), and the Cardiff Baseball Club (1893). Electrical workers of all classes gathered here in 1900 to form the local branch of the Electrical Trade Union . It was named the Goat Major in 1995 by the SA Brain Brewery in honor of the soldier who looks after the goat mascot of the Royal Welsh infantry regiment. The goat of the 1st battalion is always called Billy, the 2nd battalion's Taffy, and the 3rd battalion's Shenkin. It was renamed the Blue Bell in 2021.

Located across the street from Cardiff Castle (I highly recommend checking it out!). Smallish and cozy and VERY proud of being Welsh ( you gotta love the draig)! Always plenty of spirited conversation to be had in a welsh pub! I haven't mentioned the Sunday Roast before. It happens in virtually every English pub and restaurant. It is a giant feast of roasted meats, potatoes and veg, yorkshire pudding - it is a real gut blower! Be prepared to bloat! And such a delicious house beer, Blue Bell Ale by Glamorgan brewing located outside of Cardiff. A delicious crisp bitter.
