Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

NYC, West Village. My first stop in the city. Opened in 1995 it is considered a pioneer in New York City's craft beer scene. Located in the West Village, originally on Hudson and moved to Bleecker in 2005. I first went in 1997, and met some great brewers there, including Sam Calagione from Dogfish Head and Rob Todd from Allagash. I also met Charlie Papazian, the guru of homebrewing there. 28 beers on tap. During my 2 visits I tasted some delicious beers - an IPA from Grimm Brewing in Brooklyn, Lawson's Chinooker'd (Vermont), Fox Farm Riffle (Connecticut), and a very special one - Cantillon Vigneronne (Belgium, and one of my favorite breweries in the world). I also had 2 delicious sandwiches - a pulled pork sandwich on ciabatta bread and a roast beef with roasted red peppers and arugula. Plus I got to reconnect with Tara, the best beertender in the world. Good to be back home!
