Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Ghent. Located on the Botermarkt, it is known as the Ghent city beer, and is a proud reference to Jacob van Artevelde, who continued to trade wool with England during The Hundred Years War when France forbade doing any business with England. Brewed by Brouwerwerij Huyghe (founded in 1898) the first Artevelde was released in 1985. In the lovely tasting room we opted for the 4 beer tasting flight - Pils, Leute (blonde), Grand Cru (dark) and Wijze (almost wine-like in character). All were fabulous and a great start to our walking journey through Ghent.
