Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Margate. Located in the Kent coastal town of Margate, this micropub opened in 2015 and is one of the coolest, quirkiest pubs I have ever been in. There is hardly any space on the walls that isn't covered with eclectic brewery, fairground, and historic memorabilia. It is furnished with a mixture of high and low tables, raised bench seating, and there is even an old barber chair. There is a small bar counter at the rear with a temperature controlled cellar room from which cask ales and ciders are served on gravity dispense. When I walked in a track from John Coltrane's "Blue Train" was playing. I grabbed a pint of Fez House Bitter, took a seat, and enjoyed listening to the entire album. Rebecca the bartender was a jazz fan (her ex is saxophonist Andy Shepherd) and we had a great chat about music, the Kent coast, and so many other things. If you ever get to Margate this is a must stop.
