Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Borough Market, London. This rounded Victorian building, built in a distinctive Gothic style in 1872 by Henry Jarvis, is located inside the famous (busy!) food market. A nice place to go to relax a bit and get away from the throngs of people. The interior has been renovated over the years but still retains the feel of an old pub. It gained pop culture fame as the building where Bridget Jones lived in the movie "Bridget Jones's Diary", with external shots featuring the pub and the surrounding market. I was happy to walk in and hear Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man" and then Nat King Cole's version of "Nature Boy". I discovered that Ed the bartender was a bass player (and his father is a jazz lover), and he and I had a nice conversation about music as I enjoyed a pint of Fuller's London Pride. A nice way to end my little pub crawl around Borough Market.
