Pubs with Bruce
I've been a beer lover all my life and I love to travel. Combining these is the ultimate experience. As I've traveled, I've immersed myself in the history and folklore of the places I've visited. Join me on my beer journeys. Okay, it's not as good as actually being there, but who knows? You may be inspired to enjoy travels (and beers) of your own.

Poole. Established in 1635 and located harbourside, the Poole Arms is the oldest pub on the Quay. Its distinctive green glazed tiles facade bearing Poole's coat of arms is a feature from the early 1900s and is a trademark of the former Marston's Dolphin Brewery of Poole. It also reflects the town's famous 19th century ceramics industry ("Poole Pottery"). The interior has been renovated but still features a 17th century fireplace with a chamfered jam and a four center arched lintel. The walls are filled with pictures depicting Poole in bygone times. I tasted two new beers to me - Best Bitter from Rude Giant Brew Co. (Wiltshire, Wylye Valley) and Jurassic Pale Ale (Dorset Brewing Company, Dorchester), while I sat on a picnic table out front and people watched on the Quay.
